In our search for the best free online project management tool, we tried out several collaborative project management tools. Here are the results:
- AceProject: Many features.Manual time input.
- Freedcamp: Many features. Has a timer but doesn’t show who worked on which hours. Time is for certain tasks.
- Trello: organize to-do tasks (that can include to-do lists) by cards, and easily drag drop and move them between to do, in progress, and done.
- Azendoo: Task management only.
- Redbooth: Task management and manual time input. Looks good.
- TeamWork: Perfect! Has everything. Task management & time tracking. Has a timer to log time. Looks good. Easy to figure out. Unlimited users.
- Asana: Task management, assignment and completion, as well as team calendar and team messaging. Simple, fast, and easy to use.
- Producteev: Task management, assignment and completion. Very simple, easy to use, fast and straight to the point.
- Podio: Very powerful but too complex. Has a learning curve. Very customizable. Can even be used as a CRM. Can be used for tasks, brief, and workflow. Manual time input. Also has expenses and pricing feature. 5 free users.
- Zoho Projects: Good! Looks great. No timing option though. Has a feed to show who completed which task and task completion percentage. Unlimited users.
Verdict: The best free online project management tool would be TeamWork. Runners up would be Zoho Projects & Podio. And a mention would have to go to Producteev & Asana.
